Why it works
Built around shift work, not around tourists
Most accommodation on this coast is set up for people on holiday, which means breakfast at 7 and a car park designed for hatchbacks. That is no good to a crew starting at 5:30 with a trailer to park.
We run the other way around. The buffet opens at 5am every day of the week, the returning shift eats around 7:30, and the car park takes work vehicles without anybody having a conversation about it.
Zeehan also sits in the right place for it. Rosebery is 25 minutes, Tullah 40, Queenstown 30, and the roads between them are the ones your people are already driving.
The other thing that matters on a long roster is what there is to do on a day off. The council gym is a short walk from the door, it has been refurbished recently, and access runs through the Unlock West Coast app with day memberships available. There is a pool at the same site through the warmer months.
